A Solid Home
By Elena Garro
A Solid Home is a short Mexican play about a diseased family in their tomb discussing life, death, and moving on to something beyond either of those.
For A Solid Home, I created animatics for two key moments in the show: Our main character entering the afterlife and her moving on into the new form of “a solid home” for a family to grow. In this design I wanted to play with how projections can be used to interact with actors and transform them. In the first video, the actor would step into the projected image and become solid as if appearing magically. In the second video, the image would appear on the actor Then expand to the full stage, symbolizing the transformation.
