Media Concept: At the beginning of the process, it was decided that the world of the play would be in the style of “Storybook Realism”. So in collaboration with Thalia, the scenic designer, I decided on making our backgrounds from watercolor paintings that change for different times of day, location, and season but are mostly static to keep the illustrative quality. I wanted to create a world that felt soft and came right out of the pages of a story book.
